Our Story

A little more about thanga skincare.

The name thanga comes from a mix of two Tamil words that mean gold and little sister. This was my nickname growing up and was given to me by  my periamma (aunt) when I was a baby. To this day, anyone who is closely related to me calls me by this name and that's why it is so precious and dear to my heart. I think when we think of skincare we think of "women, beauty, youth, richness". I want to challenge this type of dominant discourse of what skincare is and should be for a diversity of people. 

Using high-end ingredients, I promise to deliver the kind of skincare that is ethical in all means: ethical manufacturing and ethical testing at an affordable price. I want to problematize the status quo. Thanga Skincare Inc. is one of the ways I can do that.
